This police affidavit shows new details in the ongoing investigation of 49 year old Eddie Nichols, a former Harrison County sheriff deputy and Marshall police officer.

The report accuses Nichols of inappropriately touching a 15 year old girl. A counselor reported the touching happened multiple times from 2001 to 2002, when Nichols worked for the Marshall Police Department.

Dudley says that how Nichols met the girl. Nichols allegedly told the girl grandmother he wanted to be a role model to the girl. She told investigators she was involved in a sexual relationship with Nichols for a year.
"During the course of that investigation I developed information that led to an arrest warrant issued for Mr. Nichols, a charge for indecency with a child by sexual contact," Dudley said.
